The Oak W12
The Oak W12 London Ravenscourt Park restaurant
A new Oak! As you may already know, both Elsje and I are long time fans of The Oak in Notting Hill. It was one of our earliest favourites in London, and still is. I only just found out that they opened a second one so I desperately wanted to check it out. When I walked in I immediately felt the Oak vibe which is informal, friendly and really cosy and tempts you to hang out all afternoon and stay until late at night. You kind of feel at home… They offer the same kind of menu with great pizzas and other Mediterranean options all made with fresh ingredients and quality products. The difference with this Oak is that it’s slightly bigger, it’s also more airy with a lot of light coming through the high windows. Lovely space both inside and outdoor, and good vibe. 243 Goldhawk Road | Tube: Ravenscourt Park or Goldhawk Road | Tel: +44(0)20 8741 7700 | Website | ££

The River Cafe

This is an amazing Italian restaurant in Hammersmith. They have a modern, open-kitchen plan decor. It’s very airy, very light, very buzzy. Their menu is incredible and so is their wine list. We had a super nice Pinot Grigio (Colli Orientali del Friuli) and amazing Funghi Bruschetta as an antipasti amongst other things. I really liked to have lunch here but they are also open for dinner.
