Soho

La Esquina – The Corner

This is one of the coolest places I have been in New York. Seen from outside you wonder if you are at the right location because it looks like a regular snackbar. Inside the ‘snackbar’, you will feel lost for a moment until you notice the funky looking doorman that checks if you’re on the list. He will then allow you to take a narrow staircase down, walk through a kitchen to finally arrive in the basement/bar.
The bar looks great and serves fabulous Margarita’s. The dining area looks pretty awesome too so if you are into Mexican food… enjoy. 106 Kenmare St, Soho New York | +1 646-613-1333 | Underground: Spring Street Lexington | Website | $$

Felix Restaurant & Bar

This is a really cool French bistro in downtown Soho, and a really nice place to go for brunch in the weekend. The restaurant is buzzing and the crowd very international. It’s a great place to stop for a quick bite and a glass of wine when you’ve been shopping in this area. Great people-watching too. 340 W Broadway, New York | +12124310021 | Underground: Canal Street | Website | $$$

Kittichai

I went to this place quite a while back with my two brothers. The restaurant is located in the trendy Thompson Hotel in Soho New York and looks very glamorous and chic. We were waiting for our table in a nice waiting area in the front where you can have really delicious cocktails. The staff looks very stylish and so do the dishes… The atmosphere is great for a romantic dinner but also workes well for a (business) lunch.
Before I went here I read that some people find the staff pretentious and service bad but we didn’t have this bad experience at all.  If you dig Thai food and love a beautiful presentation I would definitely check it out ! 60 Thompson Street, New York City | +12122192000 | $$$$ | Underground; Spring Street or Prince Street | Website

The Meatball Shop

This is one of my new favourite places in NYC. It sounds a little weird, and not particularly elegant but OMG, it’s so good! You can get anything from a classic beef meatball with tomato sauce to chicken, veggie and spicy pork balls , all served with your choice of sauce. Choose from the naked, hero, slider, smash or salad version and decide whether you want pasta and if you want it under or besides your balls :) Amazing no? My personal favourite was the chicken option with a salad underneath and spicy meat sauce. Besides the food tasting really good. The look and feel of the place is great too, there is a really relaxed and cool vibe. 84 Stanton Street, New York | 212 982-8895 | Website | $$

The Merc Bar

I love this lounge bar with it’s really smart decor in the best shopping area of NYC! The bar opens at 5pm and is slightly tucked away next to the Zadig and Voltaire near Prince Street. The bartender shuffles great old school songs in the early hours of evening and the cocktails are just fabulous & delicious. The bar is also really inviting and has a warm (wooden) atmosphere with canoe’s and deer horns on the walls and ceiling. 151 Mercer St (between Houston St & Prince St) | +12129662727 | Underground: Prince Street | Website | $$$

  1. I’m extremely impressed together with your writing skills and also with the structure in your weblog. Is this a paid subject or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the excellent high quality writing, it is uncommon to peer a nice weblog like this one these days..
